Imagine that it is a very hot summer day outside. To help quench your thirst while out, you make yourself a big batch of ice tea. When you add a large quantity of sugar to tea to sweeten it, you notice where the sugar lands on ice cubes, and the ice melts. You also determine that the temperature of the tea drops after adding the sugar.

Explain in detail why the sugar would cause the ice cubes to melt while it causes the temperature to drop.

Is this related to freezing point depression? please explain.
