Cadmium selenide takes place naturally as an n-type semiconductor. The natural dopants in this case are vacancies in the crystal lattice some of the atoms are missing. How would you expect the dopant to be selenium vacancies or cadmium vacancies and why? If the band gap of CdSe is 1.7 eV define what wavelength would you expect for the photoluminescence of CdSe?
