A beaker that contains 35.00 mL of water weighs 84.95 g, and the mass of an Alka Seltzer tablet weighs 2.98 g. Addition of the tablet into the beaker of water causes the Alka Seltzer tablet to produce carbon dioxide gas. After the reaction, the mass of the beaker, water, and the remains of the tablet weighs 87.42 g. What was the mass of the liberated carbon dioxide gas?
