To prepare sodium hypochlorite( NaCLO), the principle component in chlorine bleach, chlorine gas is bubbled throught an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide:
2NaOH(aq) + CL2(g)-------> NaOCL(aq) + NaCL(aq) + H2O(I)

A) If you begin with 18ml of 0.25 M NaOH(aq) and add 100ml of chlorine gas at 0.993 atm and 25degrees C and the final temp of the calorimeter is 28.42 degrees C, what is the heat capacity of the reaction? Remember that there is the water the NaOH is dissolved in as well as the calorimeter to include in the calculation.

B) What is the molar enthalpy of the reaction?

C) Based on the enthalpies of formation and of the other components in the reaction, what is the enthalpy of formation of sodium hypochlorite?
