Companies often project their corporate values on their suppliers through a supplier code of conduct or similarly named requirements. Writing these requirements can be arduous and require the input of multiple stakeholders.
If you were asked to create this code, discuss how you would assemble a team or committee to write it. How would the committee work?

Hi everyone!
There are many things to consider when writing a supplier code of conduct. They can have anything from labor and human rights, health, safety and environmental sustainability and business integrity. So when gathering a team to help write the company's code of conduct, we want people who have experience in the field and who have everyone's interests in mind. I would pick the people on my team who have a strong work ethic, have been with the company for a long time, and know what kind of goals we want to reach with our suppliers. We would not want anything but the best for our company, and would only expect the best from our suppliers. I would make sure everyone was on the same page that way we could all hold the suppliers to the proper standard and they would also be on the same page with us.

Hello Professor/Class,
The code of conduct ensures respectful, safe working conditions for all employees. If I had to create a supplier code, I would formulate a team of human resource professionals who would both write and coordinate training manuals which reflect both professional competence and professional behavior. There would be a zero tolerance policy as it relates to harassment and or discrimination within a work place environment. Each employee can view video on subject matter at their desk, sign off that they have received information and fully adhere to the policies and procedures. There will also be a 1800 number employees can call should they need to report any claims. This would be my selected code to create a safe working environment.

A flexible workforce is workers that are not obligated to work a full-time routine (9-5) in a workweek. In other words, workers can work from home then come to the office Monday through Friday. At my current position before they decided for teachers to come back in the schools was Monday and Thursday work in the building and Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday telework from home. I was happy with that because I would not have to worry about going into the building I can just hop right on the computer in the next room and I can get a lot done at home. With everything going on with COV-19 this did slow down the spread of the virus but even if there was not any virus, I would still choose this schedule. I do think that most jobs should give their employees one day to telework out of the week or be off with pay because two days off is not enough and some people do not even get that.

A flexible workforce refers to an optimized staff that is present whenever needed. Flexibility might mean a lot of things depending on the nature of the business. For instance, a company may choose to hire a number of employees on temporary terms in order to spike a rise in their business. Moreover, flexibility could also mean training temporary staff to undertake full-time roles. A flexible workforce can come in a mix of temporary employees, part-time, and full-time in larger enterprises. Staffing remains rigid in many companies despite these firms having predictable peaks and downtimes in their operations.
Companies with a flexible workforce benefit immensely due to the increased productivity when the situation seems improbable to salvage or profit from (Hanks, 2020). Therefore, it is imperative for companies to include a flexible work model in order to save money and be effective in achieving the set objectives. Well-timed employees contribute to the success of the company due to accurate timeliness that is essential to increased productivity. Essentially flexibility is the most important facet for a company's future as workers also seek flexibility to earn more money. I seek to be a well-timed employee who adheres to the set time and can undertake a task out of the working hours. I concur with the assertion that flexibility involves adaptability to changing times and contributes effectively to gainful career experiences.
A flexible employee is increasingly skillful, happy, and contented, and contributes to low overhead according to Hanks (2020). Hence, I would prefer being flexible to changing time schedules and task specifications that may arise due to the aforementioned benefits of a flexible worker. The bottom line are that training and efficient communication channels are the engines that propel and foster flexibility which ultimately contributes to the success of the firm I will be working for.
