A spaceship of length L moves with a speed 7c/12 with respect to the ground. A ball is thrown from the back of the ship to the front. The speed of the ball with respect to the ship is c/3. Apply the Lorentz transformations to find: (a) How much time does the ball spend in the air, as viewed by an observer on the ground.(b) How far does the ball travel as measured by the ground observer.
