Olive's front porch is showing obvious signs of needing repair. Several boards are loose, one has partially rotted away, and some of the nails are sticking up awkwardly. One morning, a board gives way under the letter carrier as she tries to deliver Olive's mail, and she suffers a leg injury. A reasonable person would have been prudent enough to repair the porch or at least post a warning. Olive's behaviour did not meet this standard.
