When a book weighing 10 Newton is located on a table, the table exerts a normal force of 10 Newton on the book. When a crate weighing 250 Newton is located on the same table, the table exerts a normal force of 250 Newton on the crate. Define the mechanism that allows the table to exert just the right normal force to balance the weight of the object. Find is there any limit to how large the normal force can be?
