Where do i draw the line between a good leaving group and an excellent leaving group(sn1)? Do i draw the line for a excellent leaving group at all halides? Are any of the sulfonate ions excellent leaving groups? My book says that good leaving groups favor sn2 more than sn1, so should I always say it favors sn2 with good leaving groups?
