Assignment:
1) The very final scenes of The Florida Project (2017) were shot on an iPhone without permission from Walt Disney World. Here is what I mean by "the very final scenes:" Moonie, upon learning that she is going to be taken away from her mother to a foster home, runs to her friend Jancey's home and then Jancey and Moonie run away together to the Magic Kingdom. simply write an explanation of what you think is happening in this scene and what it teaches us about the culture of poverty. For example, do you think the scene is meant to be a realistic ending to the story, i.e., Jancey and Moonee literally run away to the Magic Kingdom, because to them it is the only place in the world that is "safe?" Or is this something that happens in Moonee's imagination as a way to cope with the fact that strangers with authority have come to take her away from her mom? Define the culture of poverty carefully.
2) "The Florida Project" was the secret name for the Magic Kingdom (and all of Walt Disney World, really) before it was built. The Florida Project (2017), the movie, was meant to show what the world looks like from a kid's level. Name and describe five scenes from the film when Moonee seemed to really be having fun without a care in the world. In order to get credit for your answer each description must be at least ten words and detailed enough so I know what part of the movie they came from. And, if you have ever been to the Magic Kingdom take special note: Every scene in "The Florida Project" (2017) that featured Moonee's play was meant to represent a different attraction at the Magic Kingdom. For example, remember the scene when Moonee and Jancey are sitting in a tree eating bread and jam? That was meant to be a poor kid's version Remember when Halley pushes Moonee across a busy street in a shopping cart?
