Case Study: A labour dispute between former restaurant employees and the Richtree Market restaurant was brought to the board in 2014. Richtree Market moved their operations to a new location about 50 metres away in the Eaton Centre food court. Richtree argued that as a result of the move, the employees bargaining rights did not continue at the new location. The union argued that the agreement remained valid within the Eaton Centre. Richtree Market let most of their employees go after the move, replacing them with non-union workers.

Question 1: define the concepts of Successorship and Decertification.

Question 2:  Indicate whether or not you agree with Richtree Market's assertion that the old union agreement did not stand because the business had significantly changed by moving its location and changing it's menu. Describe why you agree or disagree with their assertion, based on the rules of Successorship or Decertification and on the information presented above.
