Assignment: For this assignment, you will complete a table to explore how the four conflict styles impact interpersonal communication.

Using the Unit 10 Assignment Template, please respond to the following:

1. In one paragraph, describe why you believe understanding the four conflict styles and applying techniques for conflict resolution are critical to effective communication. What do they teach us about ourselves and about others in our groups?

2. Then, for each of the four conflict styles (passive, aggressive, passive-aggressive, and assertive) complete the table with the following:

• Using your own words, define the common characteristics of this conflict style.

• Describe one example of how this conflict style can positively impact communication in group settings.

• Describe one example of how this conflict style can negatively impact communication in group settings.
