Part I of this assignment is to look at the work of some of the artists of these three movement.

Surrealism - Rene Magritte

Fluxus - Nam June Paik

Part II of this assignment is to make some relationships to what these forerunners of digital art were doing and why their experiments were important. Select one of the three artists you have researched and discuss in what ways you think their work expressed that particular art movement.

- Name the artist and work of art you will be discussing.
- Define the art movement that the artist was trying to express.
- Describe the artwork formally. What does it look like? How does it use those elements and principles of art?

- How is the artist's work moving away from reality?
- What do you think is the concept behind this work of art?

- Does the artist want you to have an intellectual or emotional response to the work? Or both? Why or why not?
