Assignment: EER Diagram Using Lucidchart Project

An e-learning university needs to keep details of its students, instructors, and courses and their relationships with respect to enrollment, and advisement activities.

Information about each student is initially recorded at registration. This includes the student's name, program (i.e. Management, Science, History, etc.), college (i.e. Management, Arts and Sciences, Nursing, etc.), level (i.e. Undergraduate, Graduate), and Major (i.e. Marketing, Finance, etc.). A student is not required to enroll in any courses at registration; enrollment in a course can happen at a later time.

The information recorded for an instructor must include name, title, and college they represent. Each instructor may advise only one student. It may be the case that, at any particular point in time, an instructor may not advise any student.

Each student has one instructor, assigned at registration, who advises the student throughout their university enrollment. The date for each student and instructor advisement relationship is assigned.

Each course that is available for students to enroll must have a title, type (e.g. remote, in-person, hy-flex), days (MW, MWF, TTh, W, Th, F), Time (e.g. "9:00 am to 10:15 am"), and a number of units (e.g. 2, 3, 4). A course need not to have any students enrolled (such as a course that has just been developed and offered to enroll). A course must have an instructor assigned and a distinct course may be instructed by one or more instructor(s). A course that is instructed by one or more instructor(s) is identified by an enrollment section number.

Each student-course enrollment has a date and grade (e.g. 2.51, 4.0, 3.30, etc.) assigned. The date is assigned at enrollment and the grade is assigned when the course concludes.

The e-learning university data model represented as an ERD below is a possible data model that describes the above set of requirements.

Instructions

Referencing the above Student Enrollment and Advisement ER Diagram and its respective requirements, create an EER diagram using Lucidchart:

A. Define each Table (Entity)
B. Specify Entity Primary Keys
C. Add the table fields (Attributes) for each table
D. Add appropriate cardinality connector lines, and denote their maximum and minimum cardinalities
E. Define the Table Foreign Keys
F. Define proper data type for each table attribute
G. Organize the EER diagram for best readability
