E. Microbes can enter/exit the human body through a variety of routes. Answer all parts of the following regarding routes of entry and exit:

1. Define "mucosal membrane", describe three tracts that contain mucosal membranes, and identify a different microbe that can enter through each of these tracts.

2. For each of these three tracts involving mucosal membranes, identify one mechanism that your body normally employs to block (or minimize) microbial access.

3. Define "parenteral route" describe two different ways of microbes entering through the parenteral route, and identify a different microbe that can enter through each of these routes.
