Question - Methylene blue is reduced by the ascorbic acid and, as that occurs the methylene blue is converted into the colorless H2MB+ compound. We used this bleaching to measure the reaction rate. Write the ½ reaction for the reduction of methylene blue. Use the standard reduction potential for methylene blue (100 mV) to explain whether or not dissolved oxygen (in the reactant solutions) affects the results of this experiment. Be sure to write all ½ reactions involved.
