If cost per gram were not a concern, which of the following substances would be the most efficient per unit mass for melting snow from sidewalks and roads? Explain.

CaCl2, NaCl, glucose, or LiCl

the answer is LiCl but I am not sure why because most people believe it is CaCl2 just because there are more ions therefore can break apart the ice easily... but why is LiCl more efficient then CaCl2.
