Defining Terms: Immigrant Migrant Refugee

The film, El Norte, is a classic account of migration. Although decades old the film chronicles children's effort to make it to El Norte.

The North, in the the film and for many children every year is a goal that exposes them to violence and uncertainty as the move hoping for a better life. At times, these children are called migrants, immigrants, and refugees.
