Knowledge Management is a complex and multi-dimensional concept making its definition hard to draft. You are requested to define it using concept analysis technique by examining the attributes, characteristics and uses of KM in the higher educational institution (or any sector of your choice. May be your working place).
You may use the concept analysis framework presented in Chapter 1 and in the Lecture slides. You may also use reference to better understand the concept analysis technique. You may refer to the glossary in your text as well as the references provided at the end of Chapter 1. A dictionary can also be used in order to better understand the term. These should be cited if used.
The chapter, however, use the concept analysis by listing examples and non-example to exemplify the concept of KM. If using this method, you should brainstorm or think of a list of at least 5 specific examples and 5 for non-example. Next, write a brief paragraph or two describing
what the major differences are between the set of examples and the set of non-examples. You can do this for each pair or for the whole set. Some useful criteria to make these distinctions should include purpose, level of structure, types of people involved, degree of subjectivity, motivation of individuals involved, and processes involved.
Try to identify at least 5 distinguishing features between the examples and non-examples. These should be listed in the attribute's column.
Next, make use of all five key attributes to define the KM concept. This should be your definition.
Examples: The followings are two examples to illustrate the concept analysis techniques. They are NOT knowledge Management examples
Question 1. Define Green Environment using concept analysis
List of examples: recycling, driving electric car
Non examples: throwing away plastic bottles, overconsumption
Next we list them as below

Example 1 (Row 1) shows corresponding positive and negative examples. Example 2 (Row 2)
shows that they need not correspond
Question 2. Define empowerment using the concept analysis: Defining the empowerment in the nursing sector
Evaluation:
1. This is a research article not a report assignment
2. Evaluation will be based on:
- Completeness: requirements is complete as above
- Clarity: you clearly explain your approach and your reasoning about the concepts
- You come up with an original definition for the KM concept - that is, one that is in your own words - and one that is clearly consistent with the key attributes you have listed
