In a healthy wild type animal the Km (KT) of the glucose transporter (GLUT2) present in liver cells is 15 mM. What would happen to glucose transport in the liver cells of animal that expressed only a mutant GLUT2 protein with a Km of 1mM, relative to transport in the wild type animal? Assume the glucose concentration in the liver of both animals is 30 mM and that glucose concentration in the blood is 5mM. Assume vmax is 20 ?M/min.

To answer the question estimate the net flux of glucose transport from the liver cell to the blood for each transporter, (mutant and wild type). Please use a graph and indicate on the graph how you calculated your answer.
