Assessment Overview
Part A: Data Analysis and Descriptive Analytics (200 words)
You are provided a data file containing information on a range of features relating to cars. You are to undertake descriptive analytics for the data file provided. A Data Dictionary has also been provided for your reference when preparing visualisations.
A Word report is to be completed with the infographic software of your choice - either Power BI or Tableau.
The following questions are to be answered for the data set provided:
Define Descriptive Analysis and describe its key use.
Produce summary statistics for Height, Length and Width variables of the cars in the data set. These summary statistics should include Mean, Median, Min, Max measures for Height, Length and Width of the total number of cars in the data set. Provide a few paragraphs interpreting this data.
Produce bar charts for height, width and length for each make of car. For example, the variable name for Make is "Car_Type.Make" and Height is "Dimensions_Info.Height". Provide a few paragraphs interpreting these bar charts.
Produce a visualisation showing the drivelines "Engine_Info.Driveline" of the various cars in the data set. In so doing, use the generated variable that counts the number of records in the dataset. How many records are there of cars with the different Drivelines, e.g. All-wheel- drive, four-wheel drive? Provide a paragraph interpreting these visualisations.
Produce charts comparing city "Fuel_Info.City_mpg" and motorway "Fuel_Info.Motorway_mpg" fuel efficiency per driveline. Provide a paragraph interpreting these charts.
Produce charts comparing city and motorway fuel efficiency for car makes. Provide a paragraph interpreting these charts.
Produce five additional scatterplots using data in the cars data set and interpret your findings.
