A. In the last part of the nineteenth century, the United States entered its second industrial revolution. Discuss the importance of this revolution in terms of the industries and people (owners and workers) involved, as well as its impact on society.
B. The industrial revolution of the late nineteenth century expanded the socio-economic classes of the country as well as created differences within these groups. Discuss the middle and lower classes in terms of their characteristics, differences, and make-up. Remember to include regional, racial, and gender differences.

The Great Depression on the 1930s, brought economic hardships to the United States. Franklin Roosevelt and the New Deal attempted to alleviate these hardships. Write an essay in which you discuss the New Deal and its specific programs. You may organize the essay in terms of the first and second "hundred days," or in terms of "recovery," "relief," and "reform" legislation. Include specific examples that examine the success, or not, of New Deal legislation, as well as who benefitted or did not benefit from legislation.
