Scenario: You are a teacher in the Medemer School, a diverse, educational institution dedicated to excellence in their students' success. Administrators of this K-12 institution want to add global living and learning to its curriculum. Due to budgetary constraints, a commercial product is not financially feasible so the administration has asked you to serve on a Working Group, with other teachers, to develop a unit on a topic of its choice that would develop global competence in the students attending their school. The school plans to start IB curriculum the following year. As a Working Group, you are engaging in exploring global issues and tackling them in this year as a pilot project. Your final outcome will be a global competence unit that incorporates an active, inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning that is also reflected in the assessment of the learning outcomes of their students.
