Revisiting Anthony - Early in this quarter we learned about Anthony and his long term stress. Look back at Anthony's case and now examine his health problems through the lens of the digestive system. Anthony also recently went to the doctor and had extremely high blood sugar. In doing so, please answer the following questions:

1. How will his long term cortisol production impact his digestive system and ATP production?

2. How will his decrease in sunshine impact absorption of certain materials in the small intestines and what type of systematic (rest of the body) effects will that have?

3. When finding out Anthony had high blood sugar, the Doctor discovered that the beta cells in the islets of Langerhans were no longer functioning correctly. Explain and/or diagram how these two things are connected and impacts his digestive system and metabolism.
