In order to double check your speedometer on your boat you decide to install a pitot tube on the bottom. One tube protrudes straight downward, while the other tube has a 90 degree bend, pointing the tip into the direction of motion. At rest, the water levels in the tubes are even, but when you reach 10 mph, you notice a difference in height of 26.8 cm. What is the speed in mph that the pitot tube is measuring? The temperature of the water is 25 C.
