The police force is becoming very data driven. Certain records, such charge sheets, mug pictures, and past offenses, require upkeep. Cases that have been resolved and those that are still ongoing need to be separated. In the past, when there was a lot of paperwork, there was a chance that information may be easily lost or corrupted. The police database is now formed by data that is directly entered into the system. The police are able to identify their target with just a quick search. Also, sharing the information with other police stations for tracking purposes is made simpler.

"Data-driven policing" makes use of data and analytics to pinpoint high-risk regions, uncover crime trends, and distribute resources. Programs of this kind can be used to pinpoint problem regions and lessen crime there. Chief Habit and Heritage Police Department would profit from such a program since it gives people the means to prevent crime before it happens.
