Danielle Roush, 16 years old, has come to the office with her mother. Danielle is complaining of a painful sore throat, fever, and severe aching in both of her ears. The physician diagnoses her with strep throat and otitis media and prescribes a parenteral antibiotic to be given deep intramuscularly. Danielle says that she's a basketball player and on the varsity team at her high school. She says that she is always too embarrassed to change or take a shower in front of the other girls because she's so skinny. Danielle would like to have the injection in her arm because it would be too embarrassing to have it in the buttocks. What Would You Do? What Would You Not Do?
