Using the Cycle of Socialization reading, identify how you "do gender" every day. What are the gendered rules, signs, signals, norms and the like that you perform on a daily basis (specifically identify the markers of femininity and masculinity in the U.S.)? Try to think beyond who does the dishes in your home, and consider the deeper processes of socialization, stratification, expectations and social norms. You are encouraged to also consider processes of internalized oppression (e.g., body image, self-perceptions of power).
