Question: Conduct a digitization audit to assess the current state of digitization of several business processes in your chosen setting (industry/space, see preceding assignments). Try to pick at least one process from each of the following categories: demand-side processes (for ex., customer journey), supply-side processes (for ex., sourcing, staffing, capacity planning processes), and top-level or strategic processes. The more business processes you audit, the more opportunities you will be able to generate in Part II of this exercise. The more carefully you understand the processes, the more valuable the opportunities you generate will be.
Your deliverable should include the following elements for each process that you analyze- an overall description of the process, the activities that constitute the process, and the state of digitization at each activity in the process. You may include any clarifying elements and details that might help our grading team understand your work-- assume we have basic knowledge of most common industries, but we are not industry experts.
(Create a matrix for example for firewall security automation as below)
Use the process digitization templates and your audit to generate new opportunities for improving your business processes. Try to generate several opportunities, don't think too hard about their viability or other constraints for now, but the opportunities should be plausible with current technology and improve on the status quo.
Select 3 opportunities. For each opportunity, highlight what you would do, why it might work (look at the works best when part of the template slides), and what process performance metric (cost, volume, etc., see slide deck for all metrics) will the digitization improve (in 200 words or less). If you can't generate enough opportunities, go back to Part I and audit a few more processes.
