The student is required to discuss the types of stressors encountered in their lives, coping strategies utilized, evidence of impact on the immune system, and success at incorporating new strategies to mitigate chronic stress activation. Student must identify one original research article related to some aspect of stress and coping that interests them and describe the hypothesis, methodology, and results of the study, as well as a description of how such research is relevant to neurobiology and clinical practice. In addition, students must identify a stressor that they currently encounter in their life describe the nature of the stressor (e.g., acute, chronic, mild, intense, physical, psychological) and their subsequent response to the stressor (e.g., passive, active). Students will then discuss their coping profile and propose ways to modify these strategies that will provide a buffer against the toxicity of the chronic stress response. Use thesis statements to support your claims.
