Question

The Lu'ma Medical Centre in Metro Vancouver is set to expand its culturally appropriate primary health care services for First Nations and other residents, thanks to support from the Province and First Nations Health Authority (FNHA). The Ministry of Health and FNHA are providing over $2 million in funding, allowing Lu'ma to hire 12 more full-time health-care professionals. These professionals will provide culturally respectful, First Nations-focused care to an additional 1,750 patients, bringing the total number of patients served to about 2,900. The patients will receive comprehensive support from a team of health-care providers, including doctors, nurses, social workers, traditional healers, Elders, and social navigators.
