Based on the information below what recommendations would you give if the Jamaican company decided to expand its business to new Zealand and Denmark?

Cultural Norms Challenges:

Cultural norms are the expectations and rules that guide the behavior of its members in any situation and vary widely across different cultural groups. It is important that persons of a culture should conform to its norms in order for the culture to function.

Businesses often times make the decision of expanding and creating branches in other countries where great differences would be faced, one example of this is cultural norms. One challenge that may be encountered if the business expands in both New Zealand and Denmark is the fact that they have a culture where they see themselves as being open-minded to change and new ideas. Danish also practice a culture where trust and share their daily lives with each other. Jamaicans on the other hand has a culture where they are closed-minded and not open to change and new ideas and are more closed off and private when it comes to their daily lives. Another challenge that may be faced is language barrier. Even though most persons in Denmark speak English their first language is Danish and this may pose significant challenges to expand the business in Denmark as persons may not be able to communicate and work well in their overseas market.
