Cultural Diversity in International Negotiation

Failure to understand the power strategies of the other culture can lead to stagnant negotiations, frustration, and even complete cessation of talks. Greater understanding of each party's power strategies can create opportunities for leverage and positive negotiated outcomes.

• Conflict resolution theories can be applied effectively through case studies and simulations (to teach leaders/negotiators how to use them). In addition, ongoing communication through conflict resolution professionals is productive. What other methodologies of conflict resolution training might be effective?
