"In less developed countries, where cultural differences between tourists and hosts are greater than in more developed countries, the negative effect of direct tourist-host contact may be greater. Rich tourists who visit Third World countries often have little respect for local values. Therefore, tourists are perceived as aggressive and insensitive, and they are exploited, assaulted, and victimized".
