1. Describe three cross-cultural differences by gender in the experience and/or expression of emotion. For each, provide an example.
2. Pick one of the following emotions - love, loyalty, hate, schadenfreude, or nostalgia - and describe how it unfolds according to the five-component model that we've been using this semester to characterize emotion. Finally, describe an action tendency this emotion is likely to engender.
3. Explain why people are more likely to compromise their own personal integrity (e.g., lie) in order to protect a close vs. non-close other (e.g., an acquaintance or stranger) from being punished for committing an illegal/unethical act (e.g., stealing) by comparing/contrasting two of the following theories as they pertain to close, personal relationships: evolutionary, self-expansion, attachment, social exchange, dialectical, stage, social cognitive, or social role/power theory.
5. Using the psychology of emotion make a hypothesis as to how emotion influences decision-making in these types of situations (moral dilemmas involving the decision to either tell the truth or lie about another person's illegal/unethical behavior).
