Cybersecurity Essentials
Students will undertake a research project critically discussing the principles and procedures associated with cybersecurity. The report and Infographic will give students the opportunity to examine the range of potential threats, risks and attacks identified from the scenarios and indicate how implementation of secure systems can mitigate against the security issues identified.
The following learning outcomes will be assessed:
Question 1. Ability to critically understand the principles of cybersecurity and the procedures to manage these in a organisational settings, taking into account potential security threats, risks and attacks
Question 2. Ability to evaluate the processes, procedures and protocols required to implement secure, reliable and effective systems security and identify suitable metrics to quantify and measure levels of security
Referencing for this assessment should be done using the Harvard referencing system.
Assignment Specification:
The second part of the assessment is a commentary on the Infographic discussing the rationale for the subject you have chosen, why it is important (please refer to the literature to support your argument), what the key cybersecurity / threat issues are and how your Infographic illustrates these. You should include any professional or ethical concerns and issues in your commentary. You should include detail on your target audience and what message you are trying to get to the target audience.
Your report (maximum 2000 words) (+/- 10%) should include the following sections:
