Assignment - Critical Reflection

During the period of this module you will be expected to undertake one coach-mentoring sessions using a coaching module and reflective framework. You will be expected to use your experience during one of these coaching sessions as a central focus for part of the assignment.

Review one of your coach-mentoring sessions, using relevant theories to explore, explain and justify your intended approach. Such theories may relate to the assumptions that may have influenced your approach, the framework that guided your practice and the skills, tools and techniques you applied.

Critically Reflect (on thoughts, feelings, actions) on the session based on what happened : before the session, during its initiation, its progression and ending .You can also consider any coachee feedback/ evaluation and any unexpected outcomes for the coachee or yourself.

Consider and discuss the learning that you can take from this session and your reflection on it, then discuss and debate how (what options there would be) for approaching subsequent sessions with this client.

Based on your experiences from this session and on the module more generally, identify and justify what will you need to do to enhance your own development in coaching or Mentoring over the next 12 months.

Identify what challenges may arise (from within yourself and external sources) and how you would address these.
