Professional experience reflection

In this assignment you need to critically reflect on your overall teaching experience during your placement. This reflection needs to be accompanied by the professional experience report, outlining the dates of your supervised teaching practice, and details of the context.

The reflection needs to incorporate the following aspects.

A. Reflection on the feedback you received from the mentor teacher during your supervised teaching.

B. Reflection on some of the learning/teaching issues encountered that enriched your language teaching experience such as: the appropriateness of your tasks for the target audience, your choice of teaching methods, student-teacher interaction, learner-centred teaching, the use of technology, strategies for teaching integrated skills. This reflection should include changes you would make/have made as a result of this reflection or mentor feedback.

C. Identification of areas of growth as a language teacher and methods you will employ to continue your own professional development as a language teacher.

You need to provide clear examples from your teaching practice to substantiate your reflection. You also need to include at least 8 academic references to support your arguments. Please reflect on issues different to the ones you worked on in the Language Teaching Experience unit. You can submit this assessment item upon completion of the professional placement.
