Assessment Details and Instructions Purpose:
The purpose of this task is for the student to create a poster. The poster is to be informative, to provide the audience - by way of the poster - with information relating to mental health and wellness. It Is important to Identify the specific audience for the poster, both In the title of the poster and throughout the poster.
As a counselling professional, you will frequently be asked to provide information in a visual format, either to engage a particular audience or to facilitate understanding. Although the quality of the textual content of your assessment remains the main measure of success, acquiring the digital skills to present the information in a visually appealing medium is a key part of your studies at ACAP.
Process:
You are a counsellor working with an organisation providing mental health and wellness services. Clients are from all age groups and are drawn from a diverse range of socioeconomic and cultural groups. As a counsellor, you are aware of the evidence supporting professional counselling to help clients reach everyday living outcomes by managing missed opportunities, personal challenges and developing effective sustainable self-help strategies. You have been given the task of creating a poster to promote mental health and wellness awareness. Your specific audience are counsellors in training and practicing counsellors. The poster will be displayed at the upcoming counselling conference in your local city.
The information on the poster is to provide a clear perspective of mental health and wellness, what it is and the many facets involved, relevant to the community. With this in mind, you are required to draw upon references from appropriate and reliably accurate sources such as research, policy documents and other references to support the facts you provide.
NOTE: Literacy is important in this poster since it will be in the public domain. Writing needs to be succinct and concise and is impeccable in terms of having no breaches in spelling, punctuation or grammar.

Title: Ensure the poster has a title including your name and student number,
Word Count: Between 850-1200 (+/-10%) depending on graphical content. The reference list is not included in the word count.
Orientation: Landscape or portrait
Font: Times New Roman 12pt is to be used throughout, except in the case of headings, which may use a larger font size, and the reference list, which should use 8-10pt
Visual aspects: It is expected that visual aspects such as the use of colour and the inclusion of images or graphic elements will form part of the successful completion of the assignment. Images and graphics should be chosen for the purpose of information, and not decoration.
Language: The language in a poster is academic, as it is designed for a professional audience. An impersonal, scholarly tone should be used and formal writing expectations apply.
References: An APA7-formatted reference list is to be included on the page in Times New Roman 8pt or 1Opt.
To set the page size to A2 in MS Word (PC guidance)
• Go to the 'Layout' tab, click on the 'Size' button and go to 'More Paper Sizes'.
• In the 'Paper size' dialog box, select 'Custom size' at the bottom.
• Change the Width to 42 cm and change the Height to 55.87cm (maximum size allowed)
• Click 'OK'; if a margins dialogue box opens, click 'Ignore', and the page will be resized.
• Save as normal.
