Attend a movie premier or a theatrical performance of a text within one thriller or horror genre of study. Students will create a critical review (500-700 words) that summarizes the film/performance, critically evaluates its strengths and successes [or its failures], and explores how the film/performance fits within/pushes against its genre.

There are two scenarios from which you may choose one.

a) You are the resident film critic for a local newspaper or magazine
b) You run a web blog dedicated to film appreciation.

Choose a movie to go see in the theatre that you would categorize as a thriller or a horror. Do any relevant research before you go (e.g. read a synopsis, watch the trailer, research previous versions, find out a little about the creative team and its style, and read other reviews).

Instructions:
Your review SHOULD INCLUDE the following information:
1) catchy, clever title
2) your name and publication (if necessary)
3) brief summary of the film
4) an analysis of the film's worth/value
5) a recommendation based on your evaluations of that film's worth
