BRIEF
Flavour Foods is an exquisite restaurant seated at the centre of Glasgow city. Roberto Giovanni started the business from scratch without help from investors and bankers. His motivation was a passion for good tasty food and wine in an elegant scenery. A variety of professionally prepared dishes are offered to customers in well-designed or stylish cubicles. It combines popular American food with traditional Italian dishes and caters for all dietary needs.
The restaurant has expanded over 25 years and opened two other branches in the city. However, recent economic and health issues in the UK and around the world exposed the business to unprecedented challenges with concerns of how to remain sustainable.
Roberto closed his restaurant in March 2020 due to the global pandemic during which all his staff were furloughed. This had a significant impact on revenues and more importantly, on the well-being of staff. Despite the lifting of restrictions and the new operating guidelines set in place for business, there is growing trepidation that the restaurant may not survive the next year.
Your task
Roberto has consulted you, a resilience and change management expert, to prepare a comprehensive proposal that will critically analyse possible solutions to building organisational resilience within the company and discuss how they might be met. Your report should focus on the following:
