Periodically, employees of department go to businesses and test their scales.  For instance, a dairy bottles milk in 1-gallon containers. Assume that if filling process is working correctly, mean volume of all gallon containers is 1.00 gallon with standard deviation equal to 0.10 gallons. Based on this information, if department employee chooses a random sample of n = 9 containers, determine the probability that mean volume for sample will be greater than 1.01 gallons?

i) 0.3821

ii) 0.1179

iii) 0.6179

iv) 0.2358

Q2)  In the application to evaluate mean number of miles that downtown employees commute to work roundtrip each day, following information is given:

                                    n = 20

If desired confidence level is 95 percent, suitable critical value is:

a) z = 1.96.

b) t  = 2.093.
