Question: Tracking in education is the process of placing pupils in various classrooms or educational routes according to their assessed intellectual prowess. There are a number of drawbacks to tracking, notwithstanding the claims of tracking's supporters that it enables customized education and enhances learning results, despite the positive sides of tracking, it also has negative sides that can set drawbacks for students like Inequality and limited opportunity has the potential to reinforce unfair and unequal educational practices. Students from underprivileged origins or marginalized areas are often unfairly assigned to inferior tracks, which may restrict their access to high-quality education and career possibilities.

Students' self-esteem may suffer the drawbacks of tracking because students have emotions of inadequacy which may deter them from further education or other objectives for the future. Limited Social Interaction is another drawback of tracking because pupils are mostly exposed to peers with comparable ability, tracking might result in social isolation. Due to the lack of social connection, kids may not be exposed to a variety of viewpoints and may struggle to acquire critical social skills. Teacher Bias is another drawback of tracking because teachers or instructors may have predetermined views about students' skills based on their allocated track, tracking might reinforce preconceptions and prejudices. This prejudice may have an impact on students' opportunities, instructor expectations, and instructional strategies.

When assessing the efficacy and equity of tracking systems, it's critical to take these drawbacks into account. Some of the problems with tracking may be solved by using tactics that support fairness, provide chances for all kids to succeed, and develop inclusive learning environments.
