Research and Apply Evidence to Practice Assignment - Critical analysis of research article
Assessment Overview: This assessment is assessing your ability to critically analyze current research, evidence based studies and industry intelligence. The analysis is aimed to develop skills of applying evidence based practice within the enrolled nurses' scope of practice.
To be able to demonstrate your ability to critically analyze a research article, you will need to
1. Access an electronic research database through the Holmesglen Learning Commons.
2. Using three (3) search terms, retrieve one (1) research article. This article can be either qualitative or quantitative. The search terms must be relevant to nursing aspects within the scope of practice of enrolled nurses and within the year range of 2014-2019 to demonstrate current research.
3. Read and understand the research article that you have retrieved.
4. Provide answers for Questions 1 to 5.
Questions -
Question 1 - Identify the search strategy you used on research database by adding a screenshot of the search page to the slide.
Question 2 - Discuss Strategies to Eliminate Medication Error among Undergraduate Nursing Students.
Question 3 - Research Question: This paper aims to discuss about the possible factors which might have contributed towards the reported errors.
Ethical Consideration: The confidentiality and anonymity was maintained, data was protected with a password.
Question 4 - Comparison: Identifying the reported medication errors, for the enrolled four year Nursing students between 2010 to 2013.
Question 5 - a) Implications: The findings must be shared with the nursing student, so that they can truly understand the type and consequences of the reported medication error.
These findings can be shared with the nursing course coordinators so that they can inform and re-look at the way of teaching about medication skills.
b) (1) - Direct impact of the research to current practice.
(2) - Recommendations for further practice.
