The recombinant Hepatitis B virus vaccine has greatly reduced the number of new HBV infections worldwide. The WHO has asked you for a 1 page memo providing a detailing description of your opinion on whether International Health money should be dedicated to eradicating HBV versus dedicating money towards eradicating HBV. Be sure to include 1 - 2 sentences about the epidemiology of HBV and 1 - 2 sentences about the disease process. The creative aspect is in your presenting arguments why you think working towards HBV eradication would be more beneficial to save public health dollars and lives versus other critical diseases that have effective vaccines such as measles and polio. You may argue that money for providing the HBV vaccine IS a better use or IS NOT a better use of Who public health dollars.
