The company is one of the most renowned design, project management and engineering consultancies with offices at various locations around the world. The company has around 12 offices in different parts of UK. Originally known as WS Atkins and Partners, the company was founded and established in the year 1938 by William Atkins in London, UK. Atkins specialised in providing civil and structural engineering design and services in its early years of operation. Today, the company plans every aspect of client's project, be it cost, risk planning, feasibility or logistics. In addition, Atkins designs intellectual capital, advanced technology systems, and also physical structures. The skills of the company lie in the extensive field of infrastructure encompassing buildings; all forms of transport: land, sea and air; security and information communication systems; as well as in utilities including energy and water.
