Scenario 1 - Plan preparation
As recently appointed Beverage Manager at The Righteous Inn, one of your primary responsibilities is the creation of plans for your work team. In the past, the Beverage team/department had been managed by a person who never produced work plans, and the quality of service and beverage sales gradually fell off in all areas leading to that person's dismissal and your new role.
The Beverage Department is responsible for the sale and service of all alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at the venue for consumption both on-premises and off the premises.
The Righteous Inn has a Public Bar, a Lounge Bar, a Restaurant, a Bottle Shop, and beverages in the in-room fridges in the 100 rooms of the property.
During your job interview, senior management made it very clear they expect you to produce a short, medium, and long-term plan for the team/department as a matter of urgency in order to introduce a sense of direction to the staff and to help the department contribute to the higher-level operational and strategic plans of the property.
