Mission Statement - The program mission statement is the back-bone of everything you do in your program. This assignment involves writing a mission statement for a program you would like to own/direct.

This paper need to include answers to the following questions:

  • What is the purpose of your organization?
  • How do you achieve this purpose?
  • Who is your target clientele? Are you sensitive to your clients'/customers' needs and dedicated to their satisfaction?
  • What is your specialty?
  • How are you visible in the community? Are you committed to the enhancement of the community of which you are a part? Do you contribute to its economic vitality and consider the environmental impact of your growth? Are you a symbol of leadership and active participation in community affairs?
  • What action step will you take this year? How will you distinguish yourself from your competitors?

Once you have answered these questions, create a mission statement using the information gathered in your answers that describes:

  • Your purpose
  • Your niche
  • What makes your organization unique?

Research a number of programs for ideas to fit your educational mission, Chapter 2 and page 187 of textbook, for academic content and new learning. Keep in mind research examples are not to be cut and pasted or used verbatim.
