Introduction:
You are a junior IT trainer for Bluetech Ltd, online sellers of branded bluetooth gadgets. You have been tasked with creating a YouTube video demonstration for the benefits of technology for all employees.
You are to create a screencast (video recording of your screen) and upload it to YouTube. It is recommended that you use screencast-o-matic or screenr co, but feel free to use any other software.
Task 1
In preparation for the YouTube video, prepare some notes which:
• Describes the main functions within a word processing package.
• Describes how website text should be presented in academic work in order to avoid plagiarism
• Describes the main functions of spreadsheet
• Explains the types of formulae that can be applied to data in a worksheet.
Task 2
The YouTube video should include a demonstration of:
1. The use of a search engine
• Open your web browser
• Open a search engine of your choice
• Change to a search engine for photos only
• Change to a search engine for video
• Change to a different search engine
• Execute a search
• Open a website
• Copy the information of 1 paragraph
2. The use of a word processor software (e.g., Word, Pages, etc.)
• Open your word process
• Create or open a document
• Paste the information from the website
• Insert symbols
• Add a picture and/or diagram
• Rephrase the paragraph copied
• Change the size, font and style (e.g., make it bold or italic) of some of the text
• Any other feature that you find useful
• Save and close the document
3. The use of a spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel, Numbers, etc.)
• Open your spreadsheet software
• Type some text in the first 4 cells and some numbers in the adjacent cells
• Change the font colour and add borders to the cells
• Add the numbers using a formula
• Divide the numbers using a formula
• Make an average using a formula
• Using your numbers add a graph
• Any other feature that you find useful
• Save and close the document
4. The use of a presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint, Keynote, etc.)
• Open the presentation software
• Create 1 slide with text and a graphic
• Duplicate the slide
• Create an animation in the presentation
• Launch the slideshow
• Any other feature that you find useful
• Save and close the document
