To extend your learning of The Gilded Age, you will be tasked with creating a virtual "museum exhibit" using the website Sutori or Google slides (the link to Sutori is here: Imagine a famous history museum is interested in creating a special temporary exhibition titled "The Men and Women who Built America." They are looking for proposals and designs. You will choose ONE historical figure related to World War 1 and create a virtual exhibit. Think of your exhibit as a gallery that highlights the most important aspects of the person's life. You will use primary source materials to showcase the life of the individual. You do not have to pick someone "powerful" like a politician, entrepreneur, or statesman. Ordinary people have a big impact on society as well. Maybe think about someone who we might not have heard about.
Your exhibit will be broken into 6 (or more) sections that answer the following questions:
1. Who is the person? (1-2 sentences + images)
2. What did they do? (1-2 sentences + images)
3. When did they live? (1-2 sentences + images)
4. Where did they live or make an impact? (1-2 sentences + images)
5. How did that person make an impact? (3-4 sentences + images + written primary source)
6. Why is that person significant? (3-4 sentences + images + written primary source)
Use artifacts and primary sources to put "on display" to answer each question - i.e. newspaper article, historical photograph, physical artifact, personal writings, or writings about that person. Incorporate visuals of both photographs and objects, as well as texts when creating your slides.
Make sure to make a slide at the end with citations.
